Mr. Dunaway is a trial lawyer with significant courtroom experience. In an era when lawyers rarely try cases in court he has tried dozens of cases to a jury verdict. He has tried many more to a bench verdict (a verdict made by a judge, not a jury). In addition to his trial experience, Mr. Dunaway has settled hundreds of cases out of court.
Before starting his own firm, Mr. Dunaway was senior associate at the established defense firm of Wilson Grosenheider& Jacobs, LLP. Because he felt a strong calling to represent injured individuals Mr. Dunaway founded the Dunaway Law Firm in downtown Austin in May of 2007.
Mr. Dunaway is Board Certified in the area of Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Dunaway was first certified as an expert in 2010, and at that time was one of the youngest attorneys in Texas to enjoy that honor. Education & Affiliations
Mr. Dunaway earned his Juris Doctorate degree from The Baylor University School of Law in 2001, where he excelled in the mock trial competition and was named Barrister. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwestern University majoring in International Studies with an emphasis on economics with a Minor in German.
Mr. Dunaway is a member of the State Bar of Texas since being admitted in 2002, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Dunaway is admitted into all Federal District Courts in Texas. He is Board Certified in the area of Personal Injury Trial Law since 2010.
